I don’t necessarily think I look my best in this picture but I’m damn proud of myself. I was having anxiety after work so instead of deciding to binge eat to calm myself, as I’ve done more times than I can count, I channeled that energy into a workout at the gym. Highlights from Saturdays workout: Deadlifts 2x6 @ 202lbs RDLs 3x10 @ 115lbs Lots of accessory work in between and finished it off with Sled pushes with 3 sets @ 125lbs. Then after all of that, I got roped into trying BFR. The burrrrnnn 🔥 - - Another solid workout in the books. 💪 I’ve been focusing on rest & recovery so I can hit it hard next week. So far I’m really enjoying this bodybuilding hybrid program. I still get in my core lifts but am focusing on hypertrophy over strength. Eventually I’ll get to do another peak phase, but since I’m still cutting weight it didn’t make sense to do one now. Save this video to practice tonight! . 🌕SEATED FORWARD FOLD (with a halfway lift): This is a gentle version of a traditional Forward Fold. Keep the spine long and let your body melt over the legs. Hold for 5-6 breaths. . 🌖SEATED CAT & COW POSE: I love this pose before bed because it stretches out the spine and helps work out any tension I’ve built up over the day. Do 3-4 rounds. . 🌗PUPPY POSE: Gah another fave! This pose targets the upper back and shoulders. Find any subtle movement that feels good here. Hold for 5-6 breaths. . 🌘THREAD THE NEEDLE: Twist it out! Don’t forget to breathe in this pose. Hold for 5-6 breaths each side. . 🌑LEGS UP THE WALL: I saved the best for last! This is a super calming pose. It has the same benefits as inversions and naturally relaxes the body and mind. Hold this pose for at least 15 breaths, but even longer if you can! I like to hold for several minutes and meditate.
